Our Trips The Super Quadfecta Overnight—Hiking, Brewery Tour, Campfires, and Hang Gliding
Experience our greatest combination trip to date! We will leave the city early Saturday morning and start our full day off by hiking the Gertrude’s Nose trail in Minnewaska State Park. After the clouds burn off and our legs are still fresh, we will break for lunch at the summit.
And then what better way to replenish our aching muscles down at the trailhead than with the best in local breweries? We’ll sample a series of beers at a local brewery and an Urban Escapes favorite. With the sampler known as “The Beer Garden,” we can promise that there is a beer for everyone’s taste. As our stomachs start growling for food, and no more beer, we’ll head over to our campsite for the evening where we’ll be treated to a good old fashioned barbeque by the same people that will teach you to hang-glide the next day. Campfires, s’mores, and plenty of stories are sure to follow as we end a spectacular day in our tents.
Rise and shine! We’re up early for a full day of hang-gliding. Set on the gentle slopes of Ellenville Mountain, we will start the day watching an instructional video, get fitted for our gear, and then literally, take off. After breaking for lunch, you can be as daring as you want and just keep starting higher and higher up the hill. This day will include professional instruction, a picnic styled lunch, and an on-site barbeque with your new flight buddies at the end of the day. Special prizes for the longest flight! After an invigorating weekend, we will return to the city with stories, smiles, and new friends. Surely to never be a dull moment, this trip is for the true weekend warrior.
Lunch and dinner will be provided on Saturday as well as breakfast and lunch on Sunday. Please dress appropriately for the hike on Saturday and have a pair of comfortable pants and shoes for hang-gliding.
